As part of English Tourism week, the Nottinghamshire Farm Tourism Group and Farm Stay joined forces to promote and celebrate all that is great in rural tourism in the county. The Great Nottinghamshire Tea Party, held at Patchings Art Centre,  was the theme for the afternoon’s activities. Visitors enjoyed complimentary tea and cake, whilst helping to decide what was the favourite local cake, all homemade with local ingredients.

The event was supported by many farm based attractions, shops, bed and breakfast and self catering providers, allowing visitors to find out what can be enjoyed on the doorstep. Thanks to the many businesses who supported the Tea Party and to those who called and helped decide that the carrot cake was Nottinghamshire's favourite homemade cake.

Along with many other counties throughout the country, we are involved in celebrating and promoting English Tourism during week beginning Monday 12 March.

Working alongside Farm Stay, the Notts Farm Tourism Group are involved in organising the Great Nottinghamshire Tea Party on Wednesday 14 March from 2.30 to be held at Patchings Art Centre - see the poster for further details.
There is much to promote and enjoy particularly in rural tourism within our county and we invite you for complimentary tea and home-made cake and discover some of the exciting things that are happening.  You can also
help us find out what is Nottinghamshire's favourite cake.

As part his 70th year celebrations, Ashley Jackson, one of the nation's most popular artists is holding an exhibition of recent work at Patchings Art Centre.

The exhibition also features signed lithographs by L S Lowry, who was both friend and mentor to Ashley. Where Counties Meet opens at Patchings on Saturday 8 October and runs until Sunday 20 November - a special opportunity to see the work of both of these artists.

Linked to the exhibition we have one of our popular Meet the Artist sessions, when Ashley Jackson will be showing examples of his work and talking about his career and association with Lowry. Visitors to White Post Farm were lucky enough to see a beautiful baby llama born on August Bank Holiday Monday.

We managed to get some pictures seconds after the birth.

The baby llama, (Crea) has been named Penguin due to his distinctive black and white colours. Penguin has been attracting lots of attention because he is just so cute!

White Post Farm has had a number of new arrivials this summer, including a mob of Meerkats that have settled in well to their new home.

The Farm is open everyday from 10am with new baby animals all year round.

These perfect little piggies were born this week at White Post Farm - out in the field right next to Darren the Goat’s paddock.

They are Saddleback Crosses which has left many of them with beautifully distinctive markings. Their lovely Panda-like eyes make them extra special!

They are a happy bunch and have had a great first day of life here on the Farm. It has been a beautiful day so Mummy Pig (Jamelia), has been sunbathing while the babies suckled for their milk. It won’t be long before they are all charging around the paddock!

Come and see them this Spring - on the field walk with lots of other friendly animals!

We love the spring at White Post Farm with lots of new born animals bouncing around the paddocks. Lambs are due throughout March as well as cute ducklings and chicks.
